This is a DRM report only; the overall Mosaic outage report will follow.
On 1 October 2026, a network failure at our infrastructure provider caused intermittent DRM license request failures in the Europe region between approximately 08:20 and 08:45 UTC.
At 08:57 UTC, we removed the affected cluster from load balancer routing, and licensing traffic was distributed among the remaining clusters. The service has been stable since.
License acquisition for FairPlay, PlayReady, and Widevine in the Europe region failed intermittently in three short spikes. The service stayed online and served the large majority of requests; this was a partial degradation, not a full outage.
Time (UTC) | Duration | Failed license requests |
|---|---|---|
08:21 | ~1 min | ~2% |
08:36 to 08:38 | ~2 min | ~1 to 2% |
08:44 | ~25 sec | ~32% (peak) |
Affected requests returned connection errors or timed out.
Our infrastructure provider had a failure in its data center network (a virtual switch failure affecting private networking and load balancers). This disrupted communication between the servers in our European DRM licensing cluster, causing some license requests to fail.
The first spike recovered on its own, so we initially monitored. When the failures kept recurring and the provider could not give a reliable recovery time, we removed the cluster from the load balancer routing resulting in licensing traffic distributing among the remaining clusters at 08:57 UTC, and the service has been stable since.
We will add the cluster once we are confident the provider's network is stable.
Provider follow-up: we are following up with our infrastructure provider on the cause of the network failure and their measures to prevent a recurrence. We expect to share the outcome of this follow-up by 14 October.
We apologize for the disruption this caused. If you have questions about this report, please contact us at support.axinom.com.
